AS A PLAYER

  • A four sport athlete [football, basketball, baseball and track] in High School at Perry Traditional Academy "99" in Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Recognized in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as one of the City League's "Fabulous Five".
  • Named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette  "Athlete of the Year" in 1998 and 1999.
  • Received multiple division I scholarship offers and decided to attend the University of Pittsburgh.
  • Named the starting quarterback in 2002 for the Pitt Panthers
  • In 2002 was awarded 2nd team All Big East honors and in 2003 was awarded 1st team All Big East honors.
  • Tied two of Dan Marino's longstanding passing records [37 TD's in a single season & 19 consecutive games with a passing TD], while also setting the single season passing yards record [3,679].
  • Nominated for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and Semi Finalist for the Davey O’Brien award
  • Signed as an undrafted Free Agent to the Carolina Panthers in 2004 and was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2005 Super Bowl winning season.
  • Became a member of the Hamburg Sea Devils [NFL Europe] in 2006, where we won the World Bowl Championship.
